The Government has 13.5 million euros to support the purchase of these vehicles and launches the incentives with an “innovation”: consumers no longer need to go ahead with the purchase without knowing whether they will be entitled to an incentive. First, the application is approved, and only then is it necessary to present an invoice.
Applications can now be made using the form available on the Environmental Fund website, for a period of 45 calendar days starting on March 31, or until the number of incentives in the type you are applying for is exhausted. When registering, it is not necessary to present proof of purchase of the vehicle, according to a report by ECO.
If the application is approved, the beneficiary has a period of 90 days to submit the required documents, namely the invoice and purchase receipt for the vehicle, using the form available on the Environmental Fund website. “This way, the candidate can know, in advance, whether they will be entitled to the financial support made available by the Environmental Fund”, says the statement in which the Ministry of the Environment announced the opening of the call.
Expenses are accepted starting from January 1, 2025. One of the new features of the notice is the increase in the maximum price ceiling for light vehicles that are eligible for support: the “check” for €4,000 can be delivered to help with the purchase of a passenger vehicle worth up to €55,000, as long as it has five seats.
However, conditions have also been added in view of previous notices: to benefit from the check, it is necessary to present a document proving the scrapping of a vehicle of the same category that is more than 10 years old, with the scrapping having occurred since 2023. The incentive related to chargers for electric vehicles consists of the allocation of 80% of the purchase value of the charger, up to a maximum of 800 euros, with one charger corresponding to one parking space. To this may be added 80% of the value of the electrical installation associated with the charger purchased, up to a maximum of 1000 euros.
