The resolution of the Council of Ministers determines the amount, which cannot be exceeded in each economic year, being 65,404,409.82 euros for 2023 and 49,985,305.50 euros for 2024.

The value defined for 2025 and 2026 is the same, with the maximum ceiling for each year being 53,468,317.50 euros, the resolution states.

In total, the authorized expenditure is up to a maximum amount of 222,326,350.32 euros, according to the ordinance, adding that the financial costs are met by funds to be entered in the budget of the Directorate-General for Health.

The European Commission decided in 2020, in the context of the pandemic, to approve the model on the acquisition of vaccines, which gives each State the right to acquire a certain quantity of vaccines against Covid-19, also setting the period of time and cost, and ensuring partial financing through the “Emergency Support Instrument”.
