Before the pandemic, Mitiska REIM purchased five Portuguese retail parks. And now, around five years later, the Belgian investor has decided to sell them to a new fund owned by the Swiss Partners Group, together with five other retail parks located in Belgium, according to a report by idealista.

“Mitiska REIM, an investor specialising in commercial real estate in Europe, announced the sale of five Belgian and five Portuguese retail parks to First Retail Partners, a recently created fund owned by Partners Group, a global company focused on 'venture capital'”, reads a statement published on the investor's page.

In Portugal, the five retail parks that changed hands represent a gross leasable area of 105,500m2 and were acquired by Mitiska REIM between 2017 and 2019, before the pandemic.

These are the retail parks now sold to the Partners Group fund:

Mondego Park (Coimbra);

Focus Park Canidelo (Vila Nova de Gaia);

Aveiro Retail Park;

Alverca Park;

Santarém Retail Park.

In Belgium, Mitiska REIM sold another five retail parks, representing a gross leasable area of 77,500 m2. The portfolio includes Retail Park Malinas, in Mechelen - which has become the “most sustainable” retail park in the country -, as well as Ninouter (located in Ninove), Parc de l'Europe (Wavre), La Couvinoise (Couvin) and the Quartier Enée (Gembloux), they mention in the document.

The Belgian investor also highlighted that these retail parks were actively managed by its local teams in order to improve their appreciation in the real estate market. And they also highlighted that these retail properties are currently occupied by “large supermarkets such as Lidl, Albert Heijn, Delhaize, Mercadona, Auchan or Pingo Doce”, have a “strong diversification” of national and international stores and have obtained BREEAM certifications ranging from “ Good” to “Excellent”.
