The publicity action is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th at the Embassy of Portugal, in Washington, according to the commission's statement.

The promotion includes commented tastings and seminars in Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, and Boston, reinforcing the region's presence in one of the main export markets - which currently represents an annual share of over six million liters and is registering a growth of around 3 % in value, describes the press release from the Vinhos Verdes Region Viticulture Commission (CVRVV).

Quoted in the statement, the Portuguese ambassador in Washington, Francisco Duarte Lopes, highlights the importance of the “masterclass of the Vinhos Verdes Region Viticulture Commission”, a participation, he noted, that allows “to continue, with special distinction, the dissemination of the best that Portugal produces”.

The president of CVRVV, Dora Simões, also mentioned in the statement, highlighted that “the United States market is a priority for the Vinho Verde Region”, so the “promotion plan is ambitious in this market, which represents annual sales of more than 19 million euros, continuing to register strong growth, as well as a growing affirmation among international critics”.
