The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has increased the districts under a yellow weather warning from two to five, due to the forecast of snowfall from today until Thursday.

In addition to Castelo Branco and Guarda, which were already under the alert, the IPMA issued a new statement with snow warnings for the districts of Braga, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real, between 9pm today and 6pm on Thursday.
The five districts will be under a warning due to snowfall above 1,200 meters, with accumulation above 1,400 meters, which could be 10 centimetres in the highest points of Serra da Estrela.
