“The reasons are essentially related to the real increase in salaries, that workers approved a proposal for a real increase of 100 euros in the salary table, the administration only wants to stay at 70 euros”, said Manuel Leal, director of the Union of Road and Urban Transport Workers of Portugal (STRUP/Fectrans).

The workers are also demanding an increase in the meal allowance to 15 euros per day, “taking into account the increase that has occurred at all levels, both in restaurants and in the company's cafeterias”, which operates in the Lisbon district and supervised by the Chamber Municipal of Lisbon.

On the other hand, according to the union leader, they presented “the demand for evolution, even if phased, to 35 hours per week” of work, in addition to other issues specific to traffic workers.

Carris workers currently work, on average, 40 hours a week.
