Around a thousand people watched the Portuguese 'Super Bowl' at the Francisco Lázaro Stadium, in Lisbon, which is the usual home of the Lisbon Devils.

The Lisboa Navigators won, consecutively, the six inaugural editions of the Portuguese American Football League (2010 to 2015) and, since then, they have not competed in even a final again, while the Lisboa Devils triumphed in 2016, 2017, and 2019.

In a season that began in February and saw the participation of seven teams, the Lisboa Devils were able to gain revenge for their results in the last two seasons when they lost in the final to the two-time national champions Cascais Crusaders.

The match started favourably for the Navigators, who were winning 20-7, but the Devils were able to turn things around during the first half, reaching the break ahead by 21-20. After the restart, the Laranjeiras team regained the lead (21-27), but the home team had the final say and came out on top in the end.

For the first time, the final of the Portuguese championship was also broadcast on television.
