"The results of the analyzes carried out on the waters of the beaches of S. João da Caparica and Norte indicate that the waters are already suitable for bathing", assured the Almada City Council, in a statement sent to newsrooms.

Along these lines, the municipality "has already lifted the ban imposed".

"The municipality will continue to work to maintain the quality levels of the waters of Costa de Caparica, for the safety of the municipality's population and all those who visit us".

It is recalled that water analyzes carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) had shown values above the limit stipulated for the bacteria E. coli, a bacterium commonly found in the intestinal tract.
