These measures, which will be included in the Municipal Budget for 2025, have already been approved by the City Council.
In the case of IMI, it will remain at the minimum value permitted by law, 0.3% for urban properties. “In addition, families with children will benefit from discounts. The application of this measure, known as Family IMI, provides for an additional reduction of 30 euros for families with one dependent, 70 euros for families with two dependents and 140 euros for families with three or more dependents", according to the City Council.
Another measure taken by the municipality to support residents “is to give up all the IRS revenue to which they are entitled (5%) in favour of their residents, in relation to the previous year's income, calculated on the respective net collection. According to the financial regime of local authorities, the Chamber is entitled, each year, to variable participation of up to 5% in the IRS tax, with the municipality of Vila do Bispo deciding to do without it in favour of the families in the municipality”.
