The text is signed by journalists such as Adelino Gomes, Césario Borga, Fernanda Mestrinho, Fernando Dacosta, Luís Vasconcelos, Paulo Pena and Viriato Teles, as well as authors and academics such as António Cândido Franco, Fernando Pinto do Amaral, Inês Pedrosa, José Luís Peixoto, Luiz Fagundes Duarte, among others.

Last Tuesday, the management of Trust In News announced its intention to present an insolvency plan, requesting the convening of a meeting of creditors to present and substantiate a recovery plan, after having failed a Special Revitalisation Process ( PER).

The administration, led by Luís Delgado, said, then, that "Trust In News has always believed that the path of its restructuring and viability would be the most consistent and positive for all creditors" and for its employees, "who have always contributed to a free, independent and impartial media, strictly complying with its constitutional requirements".

"[It is] unimaginable to conceive of social communication in Portugal without the fundamental presence of TIN magazines, which fulfil their constitutional duty to inform with rigor, quality and plurality. The obligation to inform and be informed is a basic principle of our democracy and sovereignty national", emphasised the administration, in a statement.

Trust in News' PER was rejected on November 5, with votes against by the Federal Revenue Service (AT) and Social Security.

The recognised credits totalled almost 33 million euros (32,940,709.87 euros) and voted against creditors representing around 20 million euros (20,148,007.16 euros).

The company holds 16 titles, including Visão, Exame, Exame Informática, Jornal de Letras, Caras, Activa and TV Mais.
