According to research by RenewableUK, global offshore wind capacity has surged by 15 percent in the last year, with China and the Netherlands accounting for 63 percent of the increased capacity, which rose from 70.2GW to 80.9GW.

The report found that China has the largest portfolio of offshore wind, followed by the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark.
This growth is projected to continue, as China maintains its lead with 247GW of offshore wind, followed by the UK with plans for 96GW, the US (79GW), Germany (68GW), and Sweden (55GW).
