This definitely didn't have anything to do with the weather. This is clear sabotage by most likely environmental radical activists. I'm just speculating, but some of those activists beeing responsible makes the most common and logical sense.
These environmental young kids without any knowledge or experience in life are a huge danger to not only themselves, but also to anyone around them!

Partial fake news. What's happening affects only Portugal, Spain and South of France. No other countries. The batteries of GSM antennas are exhausted therefore no phone communication nor data in Portugal. At least.

Lessons learned from yesterday An electric car is worthless in an emergency situation such as this,
Always have some cash around because cards were useless.
Have torches, candles. matches, lighters ,plenty of water .a camping bbq so you can boil water and cool.Plenty of tinned and other long life foods. Consider water purification tablets and or a survival water filter bottle than can filter river water etc safely.
Investigate getting a satellite phone as its quite worrying not being able to contact anyone back home etc. A portable wind up radio.Have some power banks so you can run some items like laptops.
Consider if practical getting a portable generator.
In a catastrophe or a war what happened yesterday is a glimpse into how it would feel.
Be prepared!

This is what netzero eco-socialist madness gets you. It's likely nuclear fusion will be a reality in 30 years so all this green energy hype is a bunch of clowns trying to fashion a modern economy on undependable renewables.

I live in Quinta do Conde and the power was out here from around noon of the 28th till midnight. At first I thought it was just to my apartment so went to the fusebox but was unable to get anything on again. I tried making a phone call and that failed so I tried texting but no luck there either. Then I realised there was no wifi. A neighbour told me he'd heard there was a blackout for the whole country and in Spain and France. I went to see if the supermarkets were still open. The Continente was but had a huge queue outside reminiscent of Covid lockdown queues but no masks required. No one I spoke to was able to tell me a reason for certain as to why we were in this strange and surreal situation in which nothing electrical worked. No one knew how long the blackout would continue. I felt like this could be what it would be like if we were in war conditions. I bought rice and lentils and cat food. I noticed shoppers panic buying and fully laden shopping trolleys. When darkness fell there were no street lights and I had no lighting so went to sleep in the dark. I was awoken by the light coming back on. I think it is crazy that governments couldn't say for sure why entire countries suffered power failure. Someone must know what really happened.
