The new shop will officially open its doors at 10 am, and launch celebrations will include games, exclusive experiences and a prize wheel for visitors.
Known for its constantly changing selection and maze-like layout, Normal has built a loyal following across Europe by turning shopping into what the company describes as a “treasure hunt” experience.
“We want every visit to Normal to feel like a discovery,” said Isabel Balsas, country manager of Normal Portugal. “In Ovar, we are bringing a concept where trending products meet affordable prices in a space designed to surprise customers at every turn.”
The store will stock a wide range of daily essentials, including skincare and haircare products, makeup, perfumes, sweets and household cleaning items. The brand focuses on well-known labels sold at lower-than-usual prices — an approach the company calls “abnormal prices”.
Founded in Silkeborg, Denmark, in 2013, Normal has expanded rapidly over the past decade and now operates in several European countries, including Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland and Portugal.
Although often compared to fellow Danish retailer Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Normal says it does not see itself as a direct competitor. Still, both brands share a similar shopping philosophy built around discovery, colourful layouts and impulse finds.
