According to the data released, the accumulated total for this year shows a 1.9% increase in the number of viewers, to a total of 4.6 million entries.
In May, cinemas registered a 27.5% increase in gross revenue compared to the same month last year, to €6.9 million. In the first five months of the year, accumulated revenue was €31.6 million, 10.5% higher than the same period in 2025.
The list of most-watched films in May is led by "The Devil Wears Prada 2," with 291,000 viewers, followed by "Michael," with 257,000, "Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie," with 58,000 admissions, "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu," with 52,000, and "Obsession," with almost 50,000 tickets sold this month.
The most-watched Portuguese film of the year is "Projeto Global," by Ivo M. Ferreira, with 8,882 viewers.
In terms of viewers by distributor, up to May, NOS Lusomundo Audiovisuais leads with 1.7 million (a drop of 17.8% compared to the same period in 2025), followed by Cinemundo with 1.6 million (a drop of 0.3%) and Pris Audiovisuais with 635,000 entries (representing a 669% increase for the company compared to 2025).
