The secondary road, which is often used by motorists as an alternative to paying tolls on motorways between Lisbon and the Algarve, will be subject to the renovation work starting in 2018. The main area targeted by road workers will be between Grândola and Alcácer do Sal in the Alentejo, where the road surface has been deteriorating for a number of years.
