"This had never happened before! He is the first person to do this", said Lesya Arkadievna, the deputy governor for the Kyiv region, when he saw Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa enter a trench in Moshchun.
Moshchun, a town on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital, was decimated during the Russian occupation and, unlike, for example, Bucha, there has been little headway made in recovery.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was not the first leader to visit the site, but he was the first to go into the trenches there.

"I've come here with several presidents and ministers and none of them has done this", said Lesya Arkadievna.
Members of the regional administration observed the moment with some surprise.
"It reminds me of the trenches of the First World War", commented the President of the Republic as soon as he left the trench with dirt on his blazer.
Funny video, Ukrainians are trying to surprise the Portuguese with ruins

That is only a proof that it cannot be all that dangerous in said trenches. Maybe these trenches are not even close to any front line.

Indeed, this is the strangest war I have ever seen. Angelina Jolie, Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, all visited, Penn gave Zelensky his oscar (perhaps well deserved..?).
Zelensky zoomed around at the Grammys, David Letterman late night show, Venice Film Festival, etc and had a VOGUE photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz. All of this at the height of his people being allegedly slaughtered. Even his appearance is strange: he only dresses in some sort of khaki paintball outfit and doesn't seem to own a suit. It all seems rather directed and edited, polished and managed, like something Hollywood publicists do.
And then of course, the strange part when the exact same people who feel terrible about the plight of the dying Ukrainians, don't want this war to end, but send ore arms, more bombs, more tanks, more missiles and more rockets, so more die!

Three smug responses, so far. All from the comfort of their armchairs. All three, prolific critics of whatever appears on here. Yawn!
