From providing glasses of water, to charging for using the bathroom, the guide outlines what are considered to be good practices.

Free glass of water?

"Establishments are obliged to make free tap water and non-disposable cups available to customers who are consuming on-site", the guide reads.

However, it is worth noting that the "establishment may refuse this provision, or charge for a glass of tap water, to anyone who does not consume any product made available by the establishment".

"If the provision of a glass of tap water involves a service on the part of the establishment, a charge may already be made, as long as this is included in the price list".

Charging for using the bathroom

According to the same document, "the use of sanitary facilities is free for customers, and the establishment may prevent access to said facilities or charge a fee for their use to those who are not customers, as long as this rule is publicised."

Serving sizes

It is stated that "there is no specific rule regarding the size of portions, quantity of food or beverages served".

"Although the consumer may complain about the amount of food served to them, this situation does not constitute any infringement".
