The measure will cover children born on or after September 1, 2021 and who turn three years old by the start of the 2024/2025 school year.
Free day care also covers all children from families in the 1st and 2nd income brackets.
The Government argues that “the measure is fundamental”, not only because it “enhances the integrated and sustained development of children”, but also because it “contributes to increasing the disposable income of families with children, especially younger ones”, in addition to “allow a better balance between family and professional life for children’s parents”.
Free = taxpayer funded.
