The hotel, scheduled to open in 2025, will operate in the Albufeira area, where the NAU São Rafael Atlântico was located. The luxury brand will operate a hotel with 149 rooms, restaurants, meeting rooms, gym, swimming pools and spa.

According to ECO, the luxury hotel brand's entry into the country comes after North-American Davidson Kempner Capital Management purchased the Crow portfolio from banks at the end of last year, which included NAU hotels.

Among the 32 hotels purchased by DK Partners, 18 are being managed by HG Portugal, the American subsidiary of Highgate, one of them being the new Kimpton hotel.

In total, the IHG group has more than six thousand hotels in more than 100 countries operating across 19 brands. More than 1,900 hotel units are still under development.

In Portugal, the chain has 19 hotels across six brands: Six Senses, InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
