In the first half of this year, EDP recorded net profits attributable to shareholders of €762 million, a year-on-year increase of 75%, the company said in a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

The profits, which in recurring terms increased by 50% to €775 million, were supported by “the good result of gains from the rotation of electricity transmission assets in Brazil and wind and solar energy production assets in Italy, the USA and Canada”, it said.
According to EDP, “excluding gains from asset rotation, the recurring net profit increased by 15% to €591 million”.
