TAP Air Portugal appears in 12th place in the ranking carried out by AirAdvisor, which classifies the best airlines for travel within and outside Europe. This annual ranking was the result of the analysis of 7,649,976 flights between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, according to a report by Publituris.

The AirAdvisor team also took into account 725,334 customer reviews registered up to July 2024, 65,471 specific lounge reviews, 37 awards received by the airlines throughout 2023, 13 airline policies on pets, family travel and comfort, and the value of miles per seat.

TAP appears in 12th place with a consolidated score of 6.0; also achieving 3 points in the “Trust” item; 7 points in “Comfort”; 0 in “Safety”, with the scoring working in reverse in this item, i.e. the best airlines appear with fewer points, as it reflects the accident information collected by IATA; 12 points in “Price”; 6 points in “Customer reputation”; 5 points in the evaluation of “lounges”, 3 points in the evaluation of professionals; 8 in “Families”; and, finally, 10 points in terms of “Pets”.

The Greek company Aegean Airlines won first place in the ranking of the 15 best European airlines of 2024, being recognized as the best option for flights within and outside Europe. The company stood out in the criteria “comfort”, “traveling with pets” and “customer reputation”.

In second place was Finland's Finnair, which offers the best lounges according to travellers and maintains an excellent safety record, followed by Lufthansa in third place, which also scored highly in the comfort category and in the lounge space rating.

Norwegian Air Shuttle came in fourth place, followed by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Iberia dropped five places compared to last year, losing the lead and is now in sixth place. Among the reasons for Iberia's change in ranking, AirAdvisor CEO Anton Radchenko explains that the company suffered a sharp drop in price and safety ratings, which represented the biggest drops in position on the AirAdvisor list.

The following positions are KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (7th), LOT Polish Airlines (8th), Air France (9th), Air Europa and Vueling tied in 10th place, followed by TAP Air Portugal, in 12th place.

In the list of the three worst airlines to fly within Europe are Ryanair, in 13th position, Wizz Air, in 14th, and, in last place, Volotea was considered the worst in the ranking.
