According to ECO, After opening its seventh pizzeria in Portugal, the Papa Johns chain wants to open 10 more stores this year in the Lisbon area, in an investment that could reach 2.8 million euros and create up to 150 jobs.
The chain has just opened its first store outside Lisbon in Barreiro, but in addition to opening 10 more stores in the Lisbon area, and plans also include “expanding to other strategic cities in Portugal,” says Nacho González Barrajón, Papa John’s general director for Iberia. When asked which cities it would be expanding to, an official source from the chain told ECO, “ They are still being evaluated".
The expansion plan for this year involves an investment of up to 2.8 million euros. “The estimated investment is between 250,000 euros and 280,000 euros per store. Estimating the opening of 10 new stores in 2025 in Portugal”, the same source told ECO.
“Depending on the size of the store, there will be between 10 and 15 employees per store”, with a total number of workers between 100 and 150.
One of the worst pizza chains in the US. Also one of the worst CEOs, known for racism and rudeness.

Papa John's pizza is horrible pizza and the owner/CEO is against unions and fair labor and wages. He's also known as a trophy hunter and racist, so all in all, not a place to go. Hope he goes broke. I wouldn't eat his pizza if it was free and I was paid.

What makes 'estadounidenses' think that we are in such a hurry that we need more fast food chains?! We need more good quality but accessible hospitals and housing...how about invest in that?

Correction: Papa John's CEO, who made controversial statements, is no longer with the company. Aside from that, pizza dough made with seed oils will only turn the Portuguese fatter than they already have become as a result of foreign imports of processed foods. Better that the Portuguese go back to caldo de coves, broa, and sardines.

10 more stores, €2.8 million? Presumably located in porta cabins.
