CP workers started more strikes on Monday, with the carrier warning of “severe disturbances” until today, in a protest over the stalemate in wage negotiations that also involves Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).
According to CP, of the 251 trains scheduled between 00:00 and 08:00, 106 were carried out and 145 were cancelled (57.8%).
CP - Comboios de Portugal indicates that 72 regional and interregional trains were scheduled, with 39 having been cancelled and 33 having been carried out.
As for the urban ones in Lisbon, 115 were planned, 76 were cancelled and 39 were carried out.
According to the company, in the urban areas of Porto, 52 were scheduled for that period, 29 were carried out and 23 were cancelled.
With regard to long-distance trains, 12 were planned, seven were cancelled and five were implemented.
CP had already warned on Friday of "severe disturbances" in the circulation of trains between 00:00 on Monday and 23:59 today, due to the strike, with minimum services decreed for the four days (25%).
At issue is the "impasse" in salary negotiations with the management of IP and CP, say the unions in a statement.
