In the round of 16, the 25-year-old athlete from the Algarve collected a total of nine points, insufficient to beat the 16-year-old from Canada, who scored 14.50.
It was the sixth time that Yolanda reached ninth place in a stage of the Challenger Series circuit.
Previously, compatriots Teresa Bonvalot and Kika Veselko completed the race in 17th and 25th place, respectively, while, in the men's category, Frederico Morais came in 33rd and Guilherme Ribeiro in 65th.
The Gold Coast Pro is the first stage of the WSL Challenger Series circuit, and takes place in Queensland, Australia, until 4 May.
The Challenger Series gives access to the WSL main circuit, with six stages planned, one of them, the fifth and penultimate, at Praia de Ribeira D'Ilhas, in Ericeira, between 29 September and 6 October.
