The national team hosts the Irish in Aveiro, in the 16th game between the two nations, and in what will be the third and final test for the next European Championship, which will take place in Germany, after the victory over Finland (4-2), in Alvalade, and the defeat against Croatia (2-1), on their return to the National Stadium after a decade of absence.

Absent in the first two friendly matches, Ronaldo will win his 207th 'AA' cap, at Municipal de Aveiro, in a match in which Pepe's return to the team is also expected.

Rúben Neves, who had the right to arrive later, like Ronaldo, as he finished his season in Saudi Arabia later, should also be an option for coach Roberto Martínez.

João Félix, Danilo, Matheus Nunes, and Nelson Semedo are among the players with the fewest minutes added in the training camp and could be starters, unlike Vitinha, Rúben Dias, and João Palhinha, who are in the group of most used.

Ireland arrives in Aveiro with John O’Shea, 43-year-old coach and former Manchester United centre-back, as interim coach, after replacing Stephen Kenny, who was fired at the end of the European qualification phase.

The Portugal-Ireland match is scheduled for 7:45 pm, at the Aveiro Municipal Stadium, and will be refereed by Englishman Chris Kavanagh.

The Portuguese delegation travels to Germany on Thursday, where it will stay in Marienfeld.
