The Azorean government (PSD/CDS/PPM) justifies the adjustment of the maximum retail price of fuels with “recent variations in the international market of reference prices for oil and energy products”.

The price of gasoline, which had not changed in July, has risen slightly, with practically no impact, going from 1.570 to 1.574 euros per litre.

The price of diesel, which had also remained unchanged in July, has increased by 4.3 cents, rising from 1.405 to 1.448 euros per litre.

Between February and June, the price of petrol rose by 12.3 cents in the Azores, after falling by 18.6 cents in the previous four months.

Diesel fell by 3 cents in June, after rising by 3.6 cents in March and April. In the previous three months, it had fallen by 16.9 cents.

The price of coloured diesel for agriculture and fishing, as defined in another order, has also risen by 4.3 cents per litre.

Coloured and marked diesel fuel used in agriculture will now cost 1.077 euros per litre, while the price of coloured and marked diesel fuel used in fishing will be set at 0.887 euros per litre.

Butane gas sold in bottles, piped or in bulk will also remain at the same price, varying between 1.348 euros per kilogram (in bulk) and 1.618 euros per kilogram (24-litre bottle, made of lightweight materials, sold to the public at the point of consumption).

The maximum prices of petroleum and energy products in the Azores are "changed on the 1st of each month and by amounts equivalent to the variation in the monthly European Price (PE)".
