"The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, is making an official visit to Ukraine today and tomorrow, at the invitation of his counterpart Ruslan Stefanchuk, who chairs the Supreme Council of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, the governing body country's legislature," his office said today.
The program of the visit, in Kyiv, "includes institutional meetings at the highest level, namely with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, with the president of the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, and with the prime minister, Denys Shmygal".
"A meeting is also planned with students of Portuguese at the Department of Philology at the University of Kyiv", adds the note.

The office of the President of the Assembly of the Republic also states that Santos Silva will be accompanied in this visit by a parliamentary delegation composed of deputies Eurico Brilhante Dias, from the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Jorge Paulo de Oliveira, from the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democratic Party, João Cotrim de Figueiredo, from the Liberal Initiative Parliamentary Group, and Isabel Pires, from the Left Block Parliamentary Group.
Last week, the President of the Assembly of the Republic announced that he had excluded Chega, the third largest party, from delegations visiting foreign parliaments, following the incident at the welcome session for Lula da Silva, on 25 April.
