Roberto Martinez made eight changes to his side but decided to start Cristiano Ronaldo who is yet to open his account for the tournament.

Starting XI: Diogo Costa, Antonio Silva, Danilo Pereira, Goncalo Inacio, Pedro Neto, João Palhinha, João Neves, Diogo Dalot, João Felix, Francisco Conceição, Cristiano Ronaldo (C).

Substitutes: Ruben Neves (45'), Goncalo Ramos (66’), Nelson Semedo (66’), Diogo Jota (75’), and Matheus Nunes (75’).

Portugal started the game poorly and were punished after two minutes as Kvicha Kvaratskheila scored to give Willy Sagnol’s team a 1-0 advantage. Georgia doubled their lead from the spot as tournament top scorer Georges Mikautadze slotted the ball past Diogo Costa in the Portugal goal.

Although significant changes were made to the Portugal team, Cristiano Ronaldo failed to get any service from wide areas, which eventually led the 39-year-old to drop deeper in an attempt to get on the ball.

Despite losing the game, Portugal finished top of Group F and will face Slovenia at the Frankfurt Arena on Monday.
